Frequently Asked Questions

Billing

Q: The pricing says that invoices are adjusted to reflect current Comex copper date of shipment, how does this affect my pricing?

A: If you order outside the 7 day guaranteed pricing, your pricing will be adjusted for copper as of the date of shipment. We will be using a 5 gram part in this illustration.

Original Quote:
5 Gram Part = $82.50/M @ $1.81 Cu
$ Change in Comex Cu = $11.01/M

Invoice Structure:
Copper Date of Shipment = $3.51
$3.51-$1.81= $1.70 (Change in Copper) * $11.01 (Change Factor) = $18.72/M
Total Cost = $82.50 + $18.72= $101.22/M

Q: Can I expedite my job order?

A: Yes. If you specify a date inside of our normal 10-14 business days we can expedite shipping for an additional cost. We will try to accommodate any production orders in the time frame requested, however production capacity is limited. Please let a sales representative know that there is a rush on the order and they will work with you to determine the best course of action. Also, remember to ask about placing a blanket order with scheduled releases to accommodate a quicker turn around time.

Q: I currently use a 10 gram slug for infiltration, I heard that I can order a smaller slug and still get the same infiltration qualities, how can that be true?

A: You heard right! Ultra Infiltrant has no additives so you can decrease the gram weight of your UI preform by up to 19% in some cases. Also, while using Ultra Infiltrant tests have shown that your density and hardness values will increase. You may be able to eliminate additional gram weight and maintain the same results! Please feel free to take a look at our Technical Data Brochure for more information.

Q: I am currently producing a part that requires straight length infiltrant slug, how will your round wire stay on my part?

A: Excellent Question! We carry a selection of squared wires to prevent the UI straight length preform from rolling off your green part.

Q: I like the idea of a wrought wire infiltrant, but there is no way I am going to turn it into rings myself. Will Ultra Infiltrant make me the engineered preform I need?

A: YES. When you first introduce your project to us, check out the "sample wizard" it will allow you to put in your current slug configuration and actually design a ring specifically for you. When you receive a corresponding quote, it is for the fully formed infiltrant slug, or "preform" as we call it. Boxes of your preform arrive at your door ready to be placed on your green part.

Q: I heard that this works great, but it's way to expensive for my operation, how would I even start to justify the cost?

A: First, don't feel alone, many others have felt the same way, but after walking through our Technical Data Brochure and Process Video, you may come to better understand all of the benefits you gain and costs that you lose by enjoying the use of Ultra Infiltrant. If you still have questions and concerns after checking these out, please contact us.

Q: Does Ultra Infiltrant work in the same sintering environment that my powdered infiltrant works?

A: The simple answer is yes. In order to make sure you are running the ideal atmospheric conditions, please take a look at our sintering advice and process recommendations on page 5 of the Tech Data Brochure.
